Colorado Secretary of State

When the Colorado Secretary of State disabled web access to secured transaction records in early 2007, they had to go back to the “brick and mortar” way of doing business, which meant serving residents in person.

The office still had large numbers of records requests, but processing them manually was not as efficient. With a small staff trying to carry out the work, a noticeable backlog quickly developed and customer service suffered.  To allow staff to meet the needs of the constituents, while still keeping up with processing, the office implemented an automated solution to eliminate manual redaction.

Moving to automation let the office work through a backfile project of over a million pages and still keep up with new requests.

Download the case study now to see how they were able to automate this tedious, time consuming process and maintain a high level of service.
