Extract's ID Shield redaction product takes top honors

MADISON, Wisc., – June 15, 2007 – The ID Shield™ automated redaction solution from Extract Systems won first place in the Information Technology category in the 2007 Governor’s New Business Plan Contest. The product was also honored as one of only four finalists from nearly 300 companies who entered the competition sponsored by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle and the Wisconsin Technology Council.

ID Shield’s advanced redaction capabilities have resulted in a tremendous level of adoption across the United States as government officials and business work to prevent identity theft. In the past year, ID Shield was used in 15 states by more than 60 state and local governments. The company’s forecasts indicate the steep rate of adoption will continue.

“We didn’t enter the contest to win,” said David Rasmussen, Extract Systems’ President. “We participated as a way to get the business plan written under a deadline and to make sure we are maximizing our competitive advantages in the market. But winning was an honor for us and it certainly validates our product and marketing strategies.”

ID Shield is part of the Extract Systems family of automated data capture, extraction and redaction products which are used to increase productivity in the processing and indexing of large volumes of electronically recorded documents.
