Electronical Health Record (EHR) and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) conversions are often designed to capture go-forward patient/provider interactions. This results in a big gap in historical patient records, even after million dollar implementations. The remaining paper records become a financial and security liability.
We understand the complexity of health-related data and your need to contain costs while continuing to improve quality of care. MedDE gives providers a more holistic and information-driven picture of every patient when it matters most - at the point of care. Plus, MedDE quickly pays for itself by eliminating records storage and retrieval costs.
MedDE Transforms Paper Health Records into Electronic Patient Data in Three Steps
- Legacy records are scanned using the leading OCR and OMR technology to ensure the best possible image quality. The image is stored in a data file.
- Image is run through automated capture technology and classified by document type. Relevant patient data is extracted and transferred to data entry staff for validation.
- Abstracted information and the link to the scanned image are transferred via HL7 interface to the EMR. Strict confidentiality of the information is maintained.
